US–Israeli campaign opening against Iran

Feb 28

Ravinder Chauhan's complete third-anniversary retrospective recalls the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led assault on communities, military positions and Nova, reporting approximately 1,200 killed and 251 abducted. It describes 2026 memorials at Nova and Kfar Aza and carries Laura Nelson Levy's Knesset-gathering account of arriving at 6:29 to remember and of continuing family trauma. The report recounts Israel's stated anti-Hamas campaign aims, the October 2025 US-backed ceasefire and remaining living-hostage exchange, and distinguishes final deceased-hostage remains recovered in January 2026. It reports the Board of Peace's January establishment and proposed Palestinian administration, reconstruction, stabilization and disarmament, while stressing implementation difficulties. It traces Lebanon, Yemen and other proxy fronts to the February 28, 2026 US–Israeli campaign against Iran, US nuclear/military targeting claims, Iranian retaliation and Hormuz pressure. Continuing mediated diplomacy and incompatible demands leave Gaza's future and the wider conflict unresolved. The source's causal regional framing and claims remain attributed.

The U.S.–Israeli military campaign against Iran began on February 28. In Fox's September 22 interview, Jack Keane recalls Operation Epic Fury beginning alongside Israel and says Iran closed Hormuz on March 2, 'three days' afterward. He links that closure to the subsequent ceasefire and stalled diplomacy. His relative-day wording is retained as his account rather than used to derive a different opening date. In his September 24 Fox interview, Pezeshkian rejects the idea that Iran chose or started the war and frames Iran's actions as self-defense. Asked about Iran's demands, he recalls the killing of the supreme leader, scientists, commanders and officials in attacks he calls unjustified. These are his responsibility and legal assessments, not independently settled findings. Netanyahu's September 24 justification for military and nuclear strikes is a separate public statement: its recalled operations are not all dated in the footage, so they do not establish coverage of this particular opening occurrence. In his October 1 Denton retrospective, Trump says he ordered a detour from his economic agenda because Iran was allegedly three to four weeks, perhaps less, from a nuclear weapon. He says action was necessary to prevent attacks on Israel, the Middle East and beyond, and contrasts forecast oil-price spikes with his claimed current price. This supplies his own necessity/nuclear-risk justification alongside Keane's strategic chronology and Pezeshkian's imposed-war/self-defense position; the alleged imminence and responsibility assessments remain attributed. DD India's October 7 retrospective explicitly dates the opening to February 28, 2026, describes US nuclear/military targeting aims, Iranian regional retaliation and Hormuz pressure, and presents the resulting wider security/economic crisis. This neutral chronology complements rather than replaces Trump's imminence rationale, Keane's causal assessment or Pezeshkian's responsibility position.
