Maricarmen accepts return-home rental offer

Goodman describes a government eviction ban through 2030 and automatic rental-contract renewal, while explicitly saying Parliament must still approve the proposal and Sánchez's coalition lacks a majority. She connects the protest wave to 87-year-old Madrid tenant Maricarmen's eviction and attributes her expected return to her longtime home to her lawyer. She reports more than 100 tents at Puerta del Sol and tens of thousands protesting nationwide. Protester Rocio Mollano says housing is a right and warns that others could also lose their homes. No completed parliamentary approval or physical return is reported.
RTVE reports that Maricarmen has accepted the property owner's offer to return to her longtime home for about €500 a month, with an approximately eight-year rental term. She remains at Gregorio Marañón Hospital and is expected to return after discharge. The report includes a supporter describing her struggle as a precedent. Acceptance advances the September 28 agreement reached by her representatives, when her own consent was still pending; the new broadcast does not show a signed lease, discharge or completed return. Tagesschau's September 29 closing update says Maricarmen is getting a new rental contract and will be able to return to her Madrid apartment. It gives no rent or term and shows no completed return. That concise statement is retained alongside RTVE's more detailed account of her accepted offer and continuing hospitalization. In RTVE's October 1 update, Maricarmen remains at Gregorio Marañón Hospital after stress and exhaustion, with no known discharge date. The agreement with Urba Gestión is described as permitting her return to her home of seventy-one years once discharged. The update establishes no signed lease, discharge or completed return.
