Police review aviation ties Rubinstein and Cohen claims
Kan exposes alleged aviation-security conflicts
Oct 5
Roi Yanovsky reports that Lahav 433's National Fraud Investigations Unit has opened a review of Transportation Ministry officials Dvir Rubinstein and Avri Cohen after conflict-of-interest revelations. Recordings aired earlier by Itay Blumental describe $5,000 private-flight checks versus a paid private certification alternative involving a $15,000 lecture and travel costs. Cohen claimed permission for outside Ofeq work, while the Civil Service Commission said none had been granted. Yanovsky says the ministry legal adviser referred the matter through the attorney general and was summoned to give testimony. Blumental describes further allegations of private-company favors and lack of ministry oversight. Requested responses had not arrived; the allegations and review do not establish criminal guilt.
Kan publishes Blumental's investigation alleging conflicts between MAMALAT head Dvir Rubinstein's aviation-security regulatory role and paid private training/consulting. Unnamed sources describe costly private-jet checks and a paid certification alternative. Kan reports financial ties to foreign airlines including Flydubai and Emirates and Smart Security's October 2024 registration. Neither Rubinstein nor the ministry has responded by broadcast time. This is a published allegation, not a proven offence or an official disciplinary decision.
