Police at Trampolín camp Ceuta clearance on film
Trampolín beach clearance operation
Oct 4–5
Euronews's No Comment film shows helmeted police directing and escorting people near police vans and a bus at Ceuta's beach encampment. Large groups sit on the ground as officers move among them and through densely packed tents and makeshift shelters. At the opening, a person is supported between two others, without an explanation of what happened. The on-screen caption reads Ceuta, Spain, 04.10.2026. Crowds and shelters remain visible in the closing scenes. The film has ambient shouted instructions and fragmentary conversation, including an unidentified discussion of possible expulsion, but no narration or numerical account of transfers or returns. All five incidental speakers remain unidentified; their fragments establish no separate expulsion decision, injury finding or completed clearance.
On October 4, 2026, a police-led operation partially cleared the migrant settlement on Ceuta's Trampolín beach and transferred people to reception resources. RTVE's earlier evening report says migrants were taken to a temporary foreigners' centre for registration. Beatriz Carrasco says her team saw dozens choose to return to Morocco and attributes an afternoon total of at least 500 voluntary returns to city sources. She reports provision to rehouse about 1,000 people, more than half the beach and the adjacent Guano settlement still awaiting clearance, and prioritization of the area near the desalination plant because the water was contaminated. In his later statement, recorded just after 21:30, Ángel Víctor Torres says the day-long operation has ended, a large part of the beach has been cleared and 1,100 migrants have been transferred to official facilities. He describes no significant security incidents and pledges continued provision of spaces so nobody sleeps on Ceuta's streets. The 1,100 transfer figure and the earlier return estimate concern different movements; completion of that day's operation does not establish clearance of the entire beach. Euronews's No Comment film, captioned Ceuta, Spain, October 4, directly records helmeted police, seated groups, escorts, vehicles and crowded tents during the same phase. It adds visual evidence of the operation without a narrated numerical outcome. A person is supported between two others at the opening; the film does not explain the cause. Its incidental speakers remain unidentified. RTVE's October 5 on-scene return reports completion of the second phase: the entire Trampolín beach is now free of migrants and huts and about 200 tonnes of waste have been removed. Sara Vázquez says about 1,000 people were evicted from the beach on October 4 and 900 returned voluntarily to Morocco. Dozens of huts remain in adjacent Guano and many people left the vicinity to avoid returning. Earlier partial-clearance reports, the at-least-500 return estimate and the minister's 1,100 facility transfers remain distinct source claims about different phases or movements; they are not silently reconciled. Beach clearance completion does not establish clearance of Guano or resolution of the reception crisis.
