Fidan rules out offensive Yemen deployment

Oct 8

IRINN says Pakistan's information ministry denies reports that its aircraft participated in attacks on Yemeni forces, contrasting this with a New York Times allegation attributed to a senior Pakistani military official. The anchor then reports Hakan Fidan's same-day statement that the Saudi–Turkish–Pakistani agreement is defensive and Turkey will not send forces to attack another country under it. A final brief says Syria also rejects joining the Yemen war. These are reported official positions, not independent proof of deployment or nonparticipation.

Fidan describes the Makkah defense pact with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as a defensive agreement: members stand by an attacked partner, but Turkey will not send troops into another country's territory to launch attacks. DD India frames his statement as assessing support for Saudi Arabia against the Houthis, without announcing an offensive Turkish deployment into Yemen. Vremya airs Fidan's same defensive-pact clarification and adds his statement that military experts are evaluating electronic-warfare and air-defence support. Its anchor's claim that Turkey and Pakistan are not sending troops differs in wording from the package's Pakistani defensive-presence account; it does not establish a new deployment date or offensive Turkish intervention.
