Suchitra assesses the Games Hockey double and firsts

Oct 3

In the complete live exchange from Nagoya, Suchitra Bhardwaj describes India's men's/women's hockey gold double, Malaysia's defeat, the men's successful title defence and both teams' LA 2028 quotas. Her claim that India is the first country to achieve such a Games hockey double remains attributed. Asked about 85 medals and fourth place versus the previous hundred-plus tally, she emphasizes historic firsts rather than numerical comparison: Suchika Tariyal in newly included MMA, soft tennis, Neeru Dhanda's individual trap and mixed-trap gold with Kynan Chenai, women's recurve-team gold, Kumkum's individual recurve gold/Olympic quota and Pranavi Urs's golf gold. Her campaign interpretation and complete qualifications are preserved.

Pranavi Sharath Urs wins Asian Games women's individual golf gold. DD India describes her as the first Indian woman to win Games golf gold. Show 291 also says she helps India take team silver with Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar. The anchor and on-site retrospective retain this individual-title milestone; no score or opponent is supplied.
