Oman's GDP figures reported Quarter and half-year differ
NCSI reports Q2 2026 GDP estimates
Date unknown
The opening headline describes growth of more than five percent in Oman's real GDP in the first half of 2026, with a value around ten billion rials. The economic bulletin instead attributes to NCSI a 5.1 percent year-on-year increase in the second quarter, to 9.9 billion rials. It reports oil activities up 14.7 percent to 3.4 billion rials but refers in that sentence to the second half; non-oil activities rise 0.7 percent to seven billion. Agriculture and fishing rise 2.3 percent to 325 million, services 1.5 percent to 4.6 billion, and industrial activities fall 1.5 percent to 1.9 billion from two billion. The quarter/half-year wording and figures are retained as aired, including their inconsistencies.
Oman TV reports NCSI's preliminary GDP estimates for the second quarter of 2026 in two price bases. Show 294 gives current-price year-on-year growth of 25.6 percent to about 12.9 billion rials, with oil activities growing above 54 percent and non-oil activities above nine percent. Show 308 gives constant-price growth of 5.1 percent to about 9.9 billion rials, with oil activities up 14.7 percent and non-oil activities up 0.7 percent. These are compatible nominal and real measures from the same quarterly publication. Show 308's opening headline calls the period the first half, and an oil-sector sentence calls it the second half; those inconsistencies remain attributed to that source. The original publication date is unresolved and is not replaced by a broadcast date or the measurement quarter.
