Saudi airports attacked Defense and flight responses
Fidan rules out offensive Yemen deployment
Oct 8
DD India reports a fresh Thursday attack on Riyadh Airport with damage not yet established, following airport attacks reported on October 6–7 with three deaths and 36 injuries. It attributes the earlier attack account to GACA and a launcher-destruction claim to the Saudi-led coalition, and recounts India's condemnation, Indian and U.S. security advisories, Fidan's defensive-pact/no-offensive-troop statement and Dujarric's condemnation and escalation concerns. The later anchor return cites an eyewitness seeing smoke from a stationary aircraft, airport contact-airline advice and Air India/Lufthansa cancellations. The earlier casualty toll is not assigned to Thursday's new attack. Official, eyewitness and broadcaster claims remain attributed; the report does not independently verify impacts or Turkish deployment.
Fidan describes the Makkah defense pact with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as a defensive agreement: members stand by an attacked partner, but Turkey will not send troops into another country's territory to launch attacks. DD India frames his statement as assessing support for Saudi Arabia against the Houthis, without announcing an offensive Turkish deployment into Yemen. Vremya airs Fidan's same defensive-pact clarification and adds his statement that military experts are evaluating electronic-warfare and air-defence support. Its anchor's claim that Turkey and Pakistan are not sending troops differs in wording from the package's Pakistani defensive-presence account; it does not establish a new deployment date or offensive Turkish intervention.
