In her complete October 8 statement, Svetlana Petrenko says Russia's Investigative Committee is continuing a criminal investigation into the Crimean Bridge incident. She describes a truck explosion igniting seven fuel tank cars on a train bound for Crimea and the dispatch of investigators, forensic specialists and expert-center staff on the Committee chairman's instructions. According to preliminary information, she says, three people died, believed to be passengers in a nearby car. A man's and a woman's bodies have been recovered from the water, with identification continuing. She says investigators have established the truck's details and its owner's identity; the owner is a Krasnodar Krai resident whose residence is undergoing investigative procedures. The truck's route and relevant documentation are being examined. The casualty count, victim description and explosion account remain her contemporaneous official claims.
An October 8 explosion on the Taman–Crimea crossing damaged road spans and set fuel wagons on fire. Vremya's on-scene account shows damage and includes witnesses and the Investigative Committee's preliminary three-death report. The broadcaster attributes the blast to a truck, but its correspondent retains unverified driver and two-vehicle theories and says the full investigative account is not established. A separate reaction report blames Ukrainian services while acknowledging the lack of a final investigative conclusion. Immediate supply coverage describes fuel queues followed by official stock assurances. In her complete original October 8 statement, Investigative Committee spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko additionally describes dispatch of investigators and forensic specialists. She provisionally reports three deaths believed to be people in a nearby car, two recovered bodies with identities still being established, and inquiries into the truck, its Krasnodar Krai owner, route and documents. Her truck-explosion and seven-burning-tank-car account remains an initial official claim; none of the retrieved reports establishes a final toll or responsibility. In his complete October 8 address carried by Rossiya 24, Aksyonov reports greater damage to the Taman-to-Crimea road carriageway and lesser damage in the reverse direction. He says a commission will assess damage and set conditional road/rail repair plans, and claims more than a month's fuel and more than two months' food stocks in virtually every category. These are contemporaneous damage and immediate supply assurances, not completed repairs or proof of responsibility.
