About this event

Netanyahu’s airport reception of Hayoun

Sep 30

France 2 follows the flight's rescuers. Yaniv Hayun tells Netanyahu that he removed the attacker from the cockpit and pulled the controls to raise the aircraft using knowledge from television. The report dates his reception by Netanyahu to the previous evening and comments on the images' electoral value. The injured Indian captain is reported out of danger after unlocking the cockpit; a separate duty interview is explicitly from the previous year. A dentist and businessman describe others' courage. The attacker remains under questioning. France 2 attributes suicidal intent and radical Islamist indoctrination claims to Netanyahu, airs his explanation, mentions Trump's Iran speculation and explicitly says the inquiry is continuing and only beginning. Motive remains unconfirmed.

On September 30, Netanyahu meets Flydubai passenger Yaniv Hayoun and his family at Ben Gurion Airport after the passengers' return. In the GPO release he calls Hayoun a hero, examines the blood on his shirt and praises his actions; Hayoun says he repeatedly requested luggage to change clothes and offers qualified recollections of the flight's timing and position. Longer airport replays in France 2 and Kan carry Hayoun's account of removing the attacker and pulling back on the controls, with knowledge he says came from television. France 2 characterizes the reception as a convenient pre-election photo opportunity. Vremya alleges deliberate presentation in bloodstained clothing and airs Konstantin Yaroshenko disputing the amateur recovery account. These appraisals and allegations remain attributed; the reception footage does not settle the flight's motive or establish political staging. In his October 1 Fox & Friends interview, Netanyahu explicitly recalls meeting the family at the airport the previous day and asking Hayoun's wife not to wash the bloodstained clothing. The complete question and answer also describe the wounded captain's injuries and the dentist, passengers and relief pilots' teamwork. These are his retrospective account and praise, preserved from the newer existing source; they do not establish the flight's cause.
