Tanker struck near Qatar Casualty reports probed

Democracy Now says UKMTO is investigating multiple-casualty reports after projectiles struck a tanker north of Qatar Wednesday. It places the attack after Iranian threats against routes bypassing the Hormuz blockade, reports at least nine vessel attacks in the preceding week and describes an oil-price increase amid energy-infrastructure attacks in Ukraine and the Middle East. It names no vessel or attacker and does not confirm the reported casualties.
