Oman TV reports Gaza deaths And three years of war harm
Israeli attacks kill Gazans on October 7
Oct 7
The anchor reports eleven Palestinians killed and others injured today in Israeli strikes in Khan Yunis and Jabalia, and says shelling caused a building to collapse with around sixty people trapped. She gives a cumulative death toll exceeding 74,249 since October 7, 2023. From Gaza, Mazen Abdul Karim reviews three years of destruction, characterising the war as genocide. His attributed figures include damage to 82% of buildings, more than 74,000 deaths including 22,500 children and 12,000 women, roughly 9,000 missing people and 1.44 million displaced people. He reports severe hospital damage, twenty-two of thirty-eight hospitals out of service, depleted resources and medical-worker deaths and detention. The account ends with uncertainty about Gaza's future. Current-day and cumulative figures have different scopes and are not added; the explosive-tonnage wording remains unresolved.
Democracy Now reports at least three Palestinian deaths on October 7, including sixteen-year-old Nimr Barbakh shot east of Khan Yunis and civil-defense worker Mohammad Tammous dying from wounds from an earlier Kamal Adwan-area airstrike. From Gaza City, Akram al-Satarri separately reports a sixty-year-old killed in Khan Yunis hours earlier and describes continuing aircraft activity, displacement and severe shortages. The sixteen-year-old and sixty-year-old are not conflated and counts are not added. His previous-day Al-Shati drone-strike account is contextual. Cumulative tolls and humanitarian estimates remain attributed. Oman TV's later October 7 bulletin separately reports eleven killed in Khan Yunis and Jabalia attacks and a shelling-related building collapse with about sixty people trapped. Mazen Abdul Karim's three-year account characterises the war as genocide and reports 82% building damage, extensive displacement and severe hospital and medical-worker losses. These current and cumulative estimates remain attributed. The relationship between the different current-day counts is unresolved; no combined toll is calculated.
