CCTV reports an October 1 flag-raising on Kaishan Island off Lianyungang, Jiangsu with Wang Shihua and island-guard militiamen. It recalls Wang Jicai and Wang Shihua's thirty-two years of island service beginning in 1986. Militiaman Sun Yeqin says younger guards have taken up the duty and pledges to guard the island and keep the flag flying.
