CCTV says the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, NDRC and five other agencies jointly issued the Fifteenth Five-Year Plan for new-type battery industry development. It sets 2030 goals for steady industry growth, stronger innovation, initial large-scale use of all-solid-state batteries and a 15,000-cycle lifespan for long-life lithium batteries. Battery technology is intended to support electrification of smart devices, vehicles, ships, aircraft and robots and green economic development. The report describes lithium, sodium and flow batteries as energy-storage and conversion devices developed through materials, structures and manufacturing innovations. These are plan objectives, not completed performance results.
