Goodman reports an eight-day, 96-mile interfaith pilgrimage beginning Tuesday at the Adelanto ICE jail in the Mojave Desert and heading toward Los Angeles to demand the closure of ICE jails. Michelle Arkin of No Camps California says the action seeks awareness of conditions at Adelanto, alleging illegal detention, abuse, inadequate medical care and lack of clean water. Her allegations are attributed rather than presented as independently adjudicated findings.
