United Cultures Forum panels Vremya’s cultural roundup
United Cultures Forum’s film AI debate
Sep 25
Vremya’s Kirill Branin visits the United Cultures Forum, interviewing foreign guests and reviewing its heritage-restoration and cinema discussions. Officials discuss restoration work and specialist shortages, while an Internet Development Institute survey describes film producers’ AI use. Konstantin Ernst warns about AI risks and questions its creative limits. The figures, claims of cultural solidarity and predictions about technology remain attributed to the programme and speakers.
At the September 25 cultural forum, an Internet Development Institute representative says a survey of more than 100 partner production companies found 78% using AI regularly in every or almost every project and 89% increasing its use over the past year. He describes image generation as the leading use and predicts AI will become routine in production within three years. The report shows synthetic actress Tilly Norwood and historical-character effects as illustrations. In the ensuing exchange, Konstantin Ernst warns that AI may need limits and argues it cannot create a genuinely original screenplay or poetry. These are a partner-company survey and panel opinions, not findings about every producer or established limits on AI. The September 27 selection repeats the institute's three-year adoption prediction and uses Tilly Norwood as an illustration, then includes Ernst's remarks about humor and wider AI risks. Its narrator cites an unsourced aggregate of more than 10,000 incidents and mentions hacking and a suicide without identifying individual cases. Those broad assertions are not verified incident counts or proof of causation.
