Aripov seeks a renewed Uzbekistan–EEC plan

Oct 2

After Bektenov's introduction, Abdulla Aripov describes Uzbekistan's observer cooperation with the EAEU, reporting trade above $20 billion in 2025 and a further 16% increase in the first eight months of 2026. He says the three-year joint action plan is finishing and a Tashkent working-group meeting should review results and agree its successor. He recalls Mirziyoyev's earlier priorities and proposes digital cooperation, electronic documents, smart corridors, accelerated customs-information approval and steps toward the EAEU customs-transit system. He proposes a concrete industrial cooperation programme and a project office in Uzbekistan, then energy-efficiency and clean-technology pilots with AI and green financing. He briefly proposes integrating electronic employment services and developing the Central Asian Tourism Ring through routes, a calendar and digital promotion. He wants all initiatives in the new plan with deadlines and targets. These are proposed consultations and commitments, not signed arrangements or completed projects.

Aripov says Uzbekistan's three-year joint EEC action plan is nearing completion and the Tashkent working group should review results and agree a successor. Citing growing trade and earlier priorities, he wants the new plan to include digital trade, industrial cooperation, green technologies, employment-service integration and tourism, with deadlines and targets. The successor plan remains proposed; no signature or completed working-group meeting is announced.
