Bektenov urges digital transport corridors

Oct 2

After Turchin's introduction, Olzhas Bektenov thanks the hosts and recalls the previous day's INNOPROM discussion. He describes stable but uneven EAEU economic development: first-half GDP growth of 1.1% versus 1.8% a year earlier; fixed-capital investment rising 17% in current prices to $244.5 billion but reaching only 92.8% of the previous year's level in real terms; services up 0.5% and goods production down 0.7% in the first quarter. He proposes accelerating digital transport corridors, describes Kazakhstan's Smart Cargo and AI transport systems, and calls for stronger joint industrial projects under the programme through 2030. He distinguishes nominal manufacturing growth from a 0.6% real production-index increase. He says the agricultural warehouse-receipt agreement took effect in June and describes collateral, credit, cross-border trading and warehouse-information benefits, urging practical implementation. He expresses readiness to support the meeting's documents; the policy proposals are not themselves enacted decisions.

Bektenov calls for faster development of a digital transport-corridor ecosystem and practical exchanges among member states. He describes Kazakhstan's Smart Cargo window, freight-flow forecasting and rolling-stock diagnostics as experience to draw on. His reference to Tokayev's earlier appeal is context; this is Bektenov's October 2 proposal, not a newly adopted corridor.
