Fort Worth Zoo reveals tiger cub names

Oct 2

ABC introduces Barani and Malu, the Fort Worth Zoo's first Sumatran tiger cubs, as twelve-week-old sisters weighing about eighteen pounds each. The zoo says the names match their personalities: Barani means brave and is a spitfire, while Malu means shy and is more reserved. Caregiver Lindy Duncan tells Muir they are doing great, says fewer than 650 Sumatran tigers remain in the wild and calls every birth a joy. She says visitors can enjoy watching them play and learn the importance of their wild counterparts. ABC describes them as critically endangered and says the new names are revealed that evening.
