Gandhi Jayanti interfaith prayer and tributes at Rajghat

DD India's anchor and Shubhra Singh's package mark Gandhi's 157th birth anniversary on Friday, October 2. It reports a morning Sarv Dharma Prarthana Sabha at Rajghat and tributes by Droupadi Murmu, C. P. Radhakrishnan, Narendra Modi, Om Birla, Rekha Gupta and other dignitaries. It attributes messages to Murmu on peace, ethical conduct and active citizenship and to Modi on Gandhi's continuing guidance for a developed India. It briefly describes floral tributes at Samvidhan Sadan. A separate substantive section reports Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti's commemoration with children's music and Gurbani, Modi's interfaith-prayer attendance and floral tribute, devotional performances and the vice president's homage to Gandhi's role and message of harmony.

A Friday-morning Sarv Dharma Prarthana Sabha is held at Rajghat in New Delhi for Gandhi's 157th birth anniversary. DD India reports homage by Murmu, Radhakrishnan, Modi, Om Birla, Rekha Gupta and others and attributes connected anniversary messages to Murmu and Modi. The ceremony and messages honour Gandhi's peace, nonviolence and civic ideals. The Gandhi Smriti commemoration is separate.
