Harris campaigns in Detroit Fox reports El-Sayed’s race

Fox’s Mike Tobin reports Harris joining El-Sayed at a Detroit Black maternal-health roundtable and airs Mike Rogers’ criticism of the appearance. He describes a Rogers-aligned PAC attacking El-Sayed’s ties to Hasan Piker, El-Sayed saying he has no plans to campaign with Piker again, and gas-pump stickers criticizing Rogers’ support for Trump’s Iran war. El-Sayed distinguishes capitalism from what he calls corporatism in an interview.

Kamala Harris joined Abdul El-Sayed at a Black-led Detroit midwifery center for a discussion of Black maternal health on September 22 and endorsed his approach to the issue. Fox reported that he was seeking stronger support from Black voters after the primary. Mike Rogers mocked the visit as a sign of campaign weakness. On the later panel, Yemisi Egbewole argued that Harris could energize key voters; Josh Holmes said her role also revealed El-Sayed's political vulnerabilities.
