RTVE accompanies Paloma Sánchez-Garnica through New York settings for her new novel Un hombre de honor. Set in 1968, it explores mafia power and the contrasts between Fifth Avenue wealth and Harlem poverty, reaching into policing, politics and business. She calls it her most ambitious novel and her first centered on the United States. Its journalist protagonist Nicole does work that her male boss signs and faces the dilemma of knowing the truth without being able to prove it after Robert Kennedy's assassination. The account is about the novel and the author's explanation; its fiction is not a factual investigation of the historical crime, and the interview's filming date is not supplied.

Paloma Sánchez-Garnica's new novel Un hombre de honor is published on September 30, 2026. RTVE's October 5 account presents the author and her 1968 New York setting, its treatment of mafia power, inequality and gendered journalism, and its protagonist's dilemma of knowing a truth she cannot prove. The date is the publication date of the work, not an inferred filming date for the New York interview.
