Oman development agreements Ceremony presents contracts
Taqah Sorouh housing agreement
Oct 5
At the opening ceremony, Abdullah Al-Ghafri introduces project contracts and officials exchange or display documents against project-specific screens. Sultan Haitham City receives a wadi-diversion tender announced above OMR14 million, a rehabilitation and elderly-care construction tender above OMR12 million, and a community sports-and-health trail agreement. Al Thuraya agreements cover districts 5A/5B with Al Namaa at OMR55 million, 5C with Zawaya at OMR45 million, and a Phase III master-plan consultancy award to BIG at OMR4.5 million. A Khazaen residential-neighbourhood agreement is announced at OMR50 million. The tourism sequence presents Port Sultan Qaboos waterfront, Al Bandar at OMR700 million and Yenkit Hills usufruct/development at OMR80 million. Sorouh neighbourhood agreements are announced for Falaj Al Sham in Bawshar (57 million), Taqah (47 million), Raddat Al Busaid in Nizwa (over 28 million, announced early and again near the end), Al Saih Al Ahmar in Bidbid (21 million spoken, 20 million on screen), Bahla (over 13 million), New Al Khadra in Al Buraimi (over 12 million), Al Rifa'a in Sohar (4.85 million spoken, 4.8 million on screen), and Al Amjad in Rustaq (2.7 million). The Bahla place is rendered Al Ma'mur in speech but Wehi Al Murr on the stage screen. Kumzar school and health-centre tenders total OMR5 million, with the screens separating 3 million and 2 million. Ömer Bulut is introduced for an Oman–Türkiye housing and urban-planning memorandum. Repeated announcements and mistimed screens are retained without counting repeat Namaa or Nizwa calls as extra agreements; contract awards and exchanges do not establish completed buildings.
At Muscat's 5 October 2026 ceremony, an integrated-neighbourhood development agreement under Sorouh is presented for Taqah with an investment value of OMR47 million. The stage display and exchanged folders identify the Taqah project. The next Nizwa announcement begins while Taqah's display is still visible; it is a separate agreement, not an alternative name for Taqah. In the same-day Oman TV package, Al Dahab CEO Ali bin Mohammed Ba Omar says they signed a Taqah seaside residential-and-retail project agreement and gives an estimated OMR40 million. His estimate is retained alongside the ceremony's OMR47 million; the difference is unresolved.
