Matar on genetic prevention UAE screening and exposome
UAEGDA carries out initial screening phase
Jan 1, 2007–Dec 31, 2011
Matar praises Russian scientific contributions and urges use of the exposome, genetics and epigenetics to improve quality of life. She recounts volunteer outreach begun in 2001, university health ambassadors, founding an NGO in 2004 and a nonprofit laboratory in 2007. She says a 2007–2011 initial screening phase covered common inherited blood disorders and high-risk premarital-age groups. Her spoken participant total is hesitant and ambiguous; it is not silently normalized. She claims costs below five million dirhams, annual savings of 32 million, expanded testing for more than 800 treatable mutations and mandatory premarital testing. She says the last child with thalassemia in the UAE was born in November 2017 and offers participation in Russian initiatives. These figures, causal claims and historical assertions are her account, not independent evaluations.
Matar recounts UAEGDA's initial inherited-blood-disorder screening phase in 2007–2011, preceded by volunteer awareness and university ambassadors and a nonprofit laboratory. She describes high-risk premarital-age groups, then claims later savings, expanded testing and reduced thalassemia births. Her spoken participant count is ambiguous and her later nationwide outcome and causal claims are retained as a retrospective account, not independently established results. The phase is dated only by its reported years.
