Russian strikes and advances Vremya cites military claims
Drone strike on Kyiv’s Shaiba market
Sep 23
Vremya’s Sergey Ponomarev reports Russian claims of strikes on Kyiv data infrastructure, a Vyshneve factory, Odesa logistics sites, Zaporizhzhia’s Amstor mall and Poltava fuel stores. The package describes claimed gains near Kharkiv, the Dobropillia blockade and Molniya drone operations, and interviews an engineer with the call sign Spirit. Military use of the targeted sites, territorial control and damage are attributed to Russian officials and the broadcast rather than independently verified.
TSN reports that drones struck the area around Kyiv’s railway station closer to noon on September 23, 2026. Witnesses counted at least five impacts in the surrounding area; railway infrastructure, commercial premises and buildings were damaged, and the former railway market known as Shaiba caught fire. The count describes the surrounding attack, not five independently identified hits on the market. Vremya shows the same recognizable market fire and alleges that Ukrainian military property was stored at the market near the railway station. That military-use claim is not independently established. Its wider Kyiv package describes jet-powered Geran-5 attacks; it does not establish a separately measured interception result or a site-specific casualty total. The later TSN train feature describes a Shahed landing near an approaching train on September 23 but does not identify the damaged market. That near miss is not treated as another account of this particular strike. Citywide casualties, the morning fuel-station attacks and the Parkovy strike are separate occurrences.
