Roscosmos software and AI Bakanov's report and plans
Bakanov reports Roscosmos software transition
Jun 3, 2025
Bakanov contrasts his former transport competence-center responsibilities with Roscosmos's industrial-software challenges. He says almost all specialized space software is domestic, citing spacecraft docking, constellation management, ballistics and collision avoidance. He distinguishes those specialized capabilities from mass-market PLM, MES and ERP needs. He credits Top Systems and Rosatom, cites T-FLEX design of the Russian Orbital Station, Logos modeling at the Keldysh Center with fewer engine test firings, and 1C at Russian Space Systems and Galaktika at Energomash. These are his progress claims and examples. He describes three AI applications with Sber: improving satellite imagery and checking it against genuinely higher-resolution images; assistance for cosmonauts, including trying to take GigaChat to the ISS by the autumn crewed launch, with another launch in March; and reviewing GOST test requirements to identify potentially unnecessary tests. He says the autumn attempt is something they will consider and try to accomplish, rather than confirming delivery. Mishustin offers a general response about technological sovereignty and national objectives, without announcing a new completed deployment.
Bakanov says almost all specialized space software is domestic, citing docking, ballistics, constellation management and collision avoidance, while standardized industrial PLM, MES and ERP present different challenges. He reports T-FLEX use for Russian Orbital Station design, Logos modeling at the Keldysh Center and 1C/Galaktika implementations at group enterprises, crediting Top Systems and Rosatom. His examples and performance claims are attributed and do not establish a new station launch or complete replacement at every enterprise.
