CIPR satellite-connectivity rollout plans

Jun 3, 2025

Anna Kurbatova follows Mishustin at Nizhny Novgorod's CIPR, preserving biometric payments, AI meeting summaries, Sber's GigaChat engineering assistant, T-Bank fraud detection, international exhibits and automated freight controls. Mishustin cites domestic IT growth and software adoption and pledges support toward 80% use by 2030, with more than 50 billion rubles for products and enterprise adoption under the Data Economy project. A 5G exhibit leads to Maksut Shadaev's qualified hope for satellite aircraft internet in 2027 and an Aeroflot agreement. The report describes six Rassvet satellites, a projected 300 by end-2026 and Dmitry Bakanov's laser-link and deployment claims. It also shows Aurora devices and projected Rosatom terrestrial and lunar nuclear projects for 2030 and 2035. Specifications, world-first claims and deadlines remain attributed plans.

At the CIPR technology review, Maksut Shadaev expresses a qualified hope for aircraft satellite internet in 2027 and mentions an Aeroflot arrangement. Vremya describes six Rassvet satellites already in orbit and a planned 300 by end-2026; Dmitry Bakanov describes laser communication between satellites and accelerated deployment. Service dates, deployment totals and world-first character remain official plans or claims, not accomplished rollout.
