Tusk welcomes revised URC delegation
Jun 24
TSN reports that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk regards Volodymyr Zelenskyy's absence from the Gdańsk Ukraine Recovery Conference as a gesture toward de-escalation and thinks Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko leading the delegation could help the event. Minister-coordinator Tomasz Siemoniak also welcomes the decision, saying UPA and historical disputes could otherwise dominate. The delegation change was announced the previous day. TSN describes the delegation's composition and links the tension to President Karol Nawrocki stripping Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle after a Ukrainian unit was named for UPA fighters. The conference is still expected to begin Thursday, with planned partner agreements including energy; no agreements are reported as completed.
