Organic production to 2030 Mishustin sets out strategy
Mishustin presents organic strategy
Jul 17, 2023
Mikhail Mishustin says the government has prepared an organic-production strategy through 2030 intended to increase environmentally friendly food and agricultural raw-material output. He cites production in 47 regions, annual growth of 8–10% and domestic producers supplying less than half of the internal organic market. He describes consumer demand, lower environmental pressure and rural-development potential, and regional support including certification subsidies, equipment leasing and premises rental. He calls for mutual recognition of organic certificates with Asian and Middle Eastern countries, better export access and sales, a wider range of credit and more trained specialists. He instructs the Agriculture Ministry to present a detailed implementation plan within six months and predicts better food quality, regional development and rural jobs. The figures and expected benefits are his account; this passage does not give a signing date or establish completed implementation.
