Ali Khamenei killed in U.S.–Israeli strikes

Feb 28

IRINN’s Mehran Nikandish connects current Khuzestan gatherings with a historical narrative of resistance. The feature recalls Ali Khamenei’s death, Arab tribes confronting Britain, the Tangestan fighters and volunteers serving alongside the IRGC in the Iran–Iraq War. Historical casualty claims, interpretations of the present war and predictions of victory are attributed to the programme and interviewees.

Ali Khamenei was killed in the opening U.S.–Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. In his September UN address, Pezeshkian recalls the killing, attributes it to Iran's adversaries and calls it unjustified. IRINN's speech, social-media and street-reaction coverage recounts his display of the late leader's image; Vremya carries his accusation. In the September 24 Fox interview, Pezeshkian again condemns the killing alongside attacks on scientists, commanders and officials. Kan's September 24 broadcast carries Netanyahu recalling Khamenei among adversaries he says are dead and characterizing them as terrorists and mass murderers. That characterization remains Netanyahu's claim, alongside the Iranian accounts. IRINN's September 23 and 25 rally retrospectives allege that the late leader's fist stayed clenched in his final moments and use it as a symbol of continuing resistance. Those broadcasts do not independently establish his final gesture or the circumstances of his death. The later speeches, photo display and nightly gatherings remain distinct occurrences; their recollections do not move the original killing to September.
