Mashhad university chain IRINN: 27,000 join

Oct 6

IRINN reports a nearly ten-kilometre human chain from Ferdowsi University through three universities to Shahid Kaveh Square in Mashhad, with more than 27,000 students and professors. An interviewee gives approximately 26,000–27,000 website registrations after nearly 20,000 the previous night; registration and attendance are not independently equated. Saleh Bazri and selected participants stress allegiance, unity and defending Iran. The complete campus package also visits Amirkabir's 'It Is Possible' technology exhibition and a University of Tehran flag tribute, and carries professors' comments about wartime attacks on universities. Selected interviews do not measure all academics' opinions.
