France 2 investigates parliamentary AI drafting

France 2's investigation examines AI use for parliamentary questions and amendments. Some MPs reject it or describe proofreading; Guillaume Garot accepts AI assistance but says nothing is published without his political approval. The newsroom says Pangram classified 48 of 194 written questions dated September 22, 2026 and 117 of 442 unique amendments and explanatory statements on repealing retirement at 64 as wholly AI-generated, compared with human-written classifications for July 2022 questions. These are detector classifications, rather than established authorship for every text. Brigitte Klinkert warns automated mass amendments could obstruct proceedings. The Assembly has a responsible-use charter and is considering an internal tool.
