Red Army crosses Xiangjiang blockade
Nov 27–Dec 1, 1934
CCTV recalls the Central Red Army's passage through Guangxi from November 25 to December 13, 1934, and the November 27–December 1 Xiangjiang battle at Xinwei, Jiaoshanpu and Guanghuapu, ending in a crossing of the river and breakthrough of the fourth blockade. It reports more than one million annual visits to the Xiangjiang Battle Memorial Museum and continued construction of Guangxi's Long March National Cultural Park, naming the Quanzhou memorial and Jieshou crossing-site park. Zhou Yunliang explains their historical and educational purpose. The report then describes Guangxi's industrial and ASEAN-facing development, briefly mentions the Pinglu Canal's opening and five Dalanping berth works, and sets out prospective Fifteenth Five-Year railway, information-port and communications projects. Long Shaofei calls for innovation, openness and stronger Beibu Gulf port development. The projects and capacity ambitions remain prospective where the source presents them that way.
CCTV recalls the Red Army's Xiangjiang battle in northern Guangxi from November 27 through December 1, 1934. It describes fighting at Xinwei in Guanyang, Jiaoshanpu in Quanzhou and Guanghuapu in Xing'an, followed by crossing the Xiangjiang and breaking the fourth Nationalist blockade. The surrounding Guangxi passage lasted November 25–December 13; it is not the battle's narrower date range.
