Strike near Kyiv’s Podil maternity hospital

Sep 24

TSN reports two deaths and eight injuries in the overnight Kyiv missile attack, with damage across several districts. Yuliia Kyriienko visits the Podil maternity-hospital area, describes sheltering patients and residents and reports a boy born safely in the shelter. The package distinguishes casualties outside the hospital from patients reported unharmed, with a later recap repeating the citywide toll.

TSN reports a strike near a maternity hospital in Kyiv’s Podilskyi district during the night into September 24, at around 2 a.m. An elderly woman heading to the shelter was killed outside; cars burned and the maternity hospital, a neighboring diagnostic center and nearby homes were damaged. Twenty babies with their parents, twenty-six new mothers, other patients and neighbors were sheltering and were reported unharmed. A boy was born safely in the shelter during the attack, which forms part of the hospital’s evacuation account. Staff and residents describe damaged windows, wards and operating rooms, and police document surrounding property damage. TSN’s opening and later recap give a citywide toll of two deaths and eight injuries; that total is not a hospital-specific toll. The private home, textile premises, telecom centers and other independently described sites remain separate occurrences. Vremya’s named industrial and telecom claims do not identify this hospital area.
