Xi’s welcome and talks CCTV’s summit account

Sep 24

CCTV carries Xi’s and Trump’s remarks at the White House welcome and reports their subsequent talks. Xi advocates cooperation, human control over AI and caution on Taiwan, announces youth exchanges and pandas and recalls Trump’s May visit. The programme says trade teams reached a new arrangement and the leaders discussed regional issues, without identifying a specific Ukraine settlement. The leaders’ positions and favorable assessments remain attributed.

At the September 24 White House welcome, Xi announces that giant pandas Ping Ping and Fu Shuang will soon go to Zoo Atlanta, describing pandas as friendship ambassadors. CCTV establishes a planned transfer. Fox's welcome report describes two pandas as gifts Xi handed out, without names, terms or evidence of a completed animal transfer. Event 1817's later September 27 arrival is a separate occurrence.
