Gantz cites Likud overtures Sources dispute formal offer

Date unknown

Roni Koban previews his interview with Benny Gantz, describing Gantz's electoral struggle, personal and political reflections and the forthcoming Saturday episode. In the excerpt, Gantz says Likud invited him to a very senior, secure position with prospects, which he rejected on principle and in pursuit of unity. He refuses to identify who approached him or confirm a defense-minister offer. Shahar Glick says several senior Likud figures, rather than Netanyahu, sounded Gantz out over recent months, but Likud sources deny a formal numbered-slot offer or finalized agreement. Glick discusses Gantz's belief that he can recover, campaign funds and reluctance to join either bloc. The claim, source qualifications and political analysis remain distinct.
